GiftGen iPhone & iPad App Gets An Upgrade
The latest version of the GiftGen gift suggestion app (which is still FREE) has now been released on the itunes app store. It has full access to the GiftGen website’s huge database of gift ideas and retailer suggestions, plus additional features.
All you have to do is select how much you want to spend, a gender, an age and character of the person you are buying a gift for, and then click ‘Search High St.’ or ‘Search Online’. Within moments you are presented with a list of appropriate gift suggestions, along with links to suggested websites or high street shops to buy them from. The GiftGen guys have done all the hard work of researching gift ideas and which sites and shops out there stock them, saving you hours of stressful brain wracking.
The app is still free and is very small (so it won’t eat up loads of your phone’s memory). Version 1.1 has had the interface re-worked slightly so that it now runs in portrait orientation as well as landscape, and is also ios7 compatible.

Additional features of the App over the website are that you can save gift suggestion lists locally to your phone, edit them and give them titles. e.g. 'Dave 50th'. You can also email lists to others (perfect for checking with others if buying a joint gift, or if you want to get some input from the recipient’s other half or friends).

Being a mobile app it’s great for when you are on the way into town on the bus, or sitting in a coffee shop during your Christmas shopping trip when you are really struggling with what to get someone.
It's interesting to plug in your own details and see what gift ideas it suggests for yourself (especially if you’re struggling with your list for Santa!). Give it a go and see.
