By: Green Grove Group Sustainability Solutions “Being a good corporate citizen starts at home through giving back in our own community. By working together with Trees for Houston and Faith West Academy, we hope to raise awareness of environmental sustainability while providing a lasting benefit to the Houston and Fort Bend County communities,” The tree planting will bring together a diverse team of business leaders from the Katy, Fulshear and Houston areas to plant, mulch and stake a grove of native Texas trees in three hours. Trees will be provided by Trees for Houston. “Trees For Houston is glad to see organizations and businesses like West Katy Netweavers and Green Grove Group working at the grass roots level to enhance our community and leading by example,” said Trees for Houston Executive Director Barry J. Ward. “I and other participating businesses of West Katy Netweavers were delighted to envision and lead such a worthwhile endeavor as the Tree Planting to benefit participants of the Camp Eagle project for years to come. Such partnerships are integral to growing our community and show the importance of integrating nature into our educational settings. By planting local native trees, we are also contributing to increased air quality, decreased run off and beautification of our surroundings,” “Faith West Academy and Community Center has positioned itself in the community to bless and provide resources for tomorrow's leaders. Through education, athletics, training, job placement, summer camp programs and a facility available to the community at little or no cost, our goal is to change lives,” said Faith West’s Public Relations Director Kirk Rightmire. "During this season of thanksgiving, Faith West is excited about this collaboration and the blessing of West Katy Netweavers and Trees for Houston. They will be working hard to plant trees to beautify our lake and park area for our summer camps. These trees will provide fun, shade and beauty to the kids of Faith West, Camp West and Camp Eagle for generations to come. Thank you to all the businesses that made this happen by giving and serving, by planting the trees around the park and lake." Texas breakfast and hot coffee will be provided for all volunteers by participating community-oriented businesses. Breakfast is sponsored by Faith West Academy and prepared by Gr8 Insurance; coffee provided by Edward Jones. Bob Doll Illustrations created the artwork. End
