Primrose and Tumbleweeds will be sampling wine from their shop with the World’s Largest Selection of Oregon Wines! Learn more about the history of Forest Grove from the authors of Images of America: Forest Grove, Mary Jo Morelli and Lisa Amato. Featuring more than 200 vintage photos, painting a vivid picture of the early days, this book is a labor of love. Meet Amy Roloff, Mary Jo Morelli and Lisa Amato, enjoy tasty treats and sample some yummy wine Friday December 6th 6-8pm. Saturday begins with a Hillsboro family of authors. Tonya Macalino, author of urban fantasy/ thrillers, her husband Children’s author Raymond Macalino, their 8 year old son Children’s author Damien Macalino and their 6 year old daughter Helena, who is not yet an author but supports them by making one of a kind bookmarks! Tonya recently released her 3rd book, the Second in her futuristic Shades of Venice Series. Raymond’ Grant McOmie, host of Grant’s Getaways on KGW, is a journalist, author and teacher who writes and produces stories and special programs about the people, places, outdoor activities and environmental issues of the Pacific Northwest. Grant will be speaking and signing his newest book 101 Grant’s Getaways on Saturday December 7th 12-2pm. Bird seekers know that the Pacific Northwest is a great place for birding. You can find Western Grebes dancing on water, or hear the Pacific Wren’s song cascade through a mossy forest. Sarah Swanson & Max Smith’s book Must-See Birds of the Pacific Northwest is a lively, practical guide that helps readers discover 85 of the region’s most extraordinary birds. Each bird profile includes notes on what they eat, where they migrate from, and where to find them in Washington and Oregon. Profiles also include stunning color photographs of each bird. Sarah & Max will be here to talk birds and sign books December 7th 2-4pm. Local history buff’s Ken and Kris Bilderback have won numerous awards, for their book Creek With No Name- How the West Was Won and Lost in Gaston Oregon and their newest book, Fire in a Small Town- a tribute to volunteer firefighters. They spend countless hours researching their work then creatively present the history. Meet the Bilderback’s and find out what their next local history treasure will be Sunday December 8th 12-3pm . What we think of today as Aloha or Aloha-Reedville was once a collection of small villages that developed near rivers and established overland routes. Janel Josephson's research into the history of the Aloha-Reedville community in Washington County, Oregon, led to the discovery of connections to her own pioneer family, who settled in Clackamas County in 1845.
