ST. LOUIS - Nov. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- In support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis Family Dinner Program, Southeast Toyota Finance associates recently prepared and served dinner to alleviate the burdens of daily chores for families living at the nonprofit’s facilities.

The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children traveling to St. Louis for medical treatment. The organization offers daily comfort, care and lodging for up to 59 families. Its Family Dinner Program helps reduce some of the stress residents must already endure by ensuring they have home-cooked meals.

“Having a positive impact on the communities where we live and work is an integral part of our corporate philosophy,” said Rod Arends, Vice President of Service Center Operations for Southeast Toyota Finance. “Our associates are committed to helping the Ronald McDonald House families who are going through such a difficult time. We are privileged to continue our relationship with this organization.”

Since partnering with Ronald McDonald House in 2009, more than 40 Southeast Toyota Finance associates have volunteered nearly 300 hours at 12 events, as well as donated $7,000. At this latest event, participants also helped clean the facility, allowing the families to spend more quality time with their hospitalized children.

The Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis has grown from an eight-bedroom facility in 1981 to now include three houses, extended-stay apartments and three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms – one at Mercy Children’s Hospital, one at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and one at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.
