Ed4Online Partners with Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES and OneWorkSource
Educational organization partners with employment and training agencies to provide online career opportunities
With unemployment rates in Upstate New York reaching as high as 8.2 percent in 2013, Ed4Online’s partnership with one of the 37 BOCES in New York, as well as OneWorkSource of Malone, NY will help to provide necessary, convenient online training to customers. BOCES and OneWorkSource have had limited access to online career courses and Ed4Online’s eLearning structure fits the mission of its new partners.
“Because of the lack of training opportunities in this highly rural area, online educational opportunities have become a viable option for training people in high demand careers,” said Joe Campbell, Manager at OneWorkSource. “For these people, having access to Ed4Online’s courses will give them a more refined set of skills and the knowledge that they need to actively seek sustainable careers.”
Courses offered by Ed4Online include those in the areas of Medical and Healthcare, Business, Alternative Energy and Information Technology, to name a few. For a full list of courses being offered by FEH BOCES through the partnership with Ed4Online, please visit https://fehb.ed4online.com/
“We are so pleased to be able to offer an online option for training rather than burdening customers with the high cost of travel expenses to neighboring training providers,” said Joslyn LaPage, Senior Workforce Advisor at Malone OneWorkSource.

About Boards of Cooperative Educational Services
The New York State Legislature created the Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) in 1948 and there are currently 37 Supervisory Districts, each of which has a Board of Cooperative Educational Services. Component school districts participate in a wide range of shared services that individual school districts may not be able to operate as effectively or economically themselves. These services include career and technical education, adult and continuing education, special education for students with disabilities, itinerant services, general instruction, instructional support and other services. School districts receive BOCES aid in addition to local state aid as an incentive to share the cost of approved programs and services.
The North Country Workforce Investment Board provides employment-related services to local businesses and job seekers through a network of region wide OneWorkSource Career Centers. Businesses look to the North Country Workforce Investment Board for skilled employees, expertise in job training and supportive services. Job seekers, both adult and youth, look to the organization for referral to and placement in high quality jobs, education and training programs.
