Akelius Donates 15 Million Dollars to Children’s Village in the Philippines
The Toronto-based residential property owner Akelius announced this week its donation of 15 million US dollars to SOS Children’s Village in the Philippines via Akelius Foundation.
This aid is to help the running costs of the Children’s Village in Tacloban for the next twenty-five years, providing food, water, shelter, and other care items to children and families, and to restore buildings affected by the devastating Typhoon Haiyan that ravaged the Island nation on November 9th, 2013.
In 2010, Akelius has in a similar way donated 30 million US dollars to SOS Children’s Villages. A 15 million US dollars donation was made to one Children’s Village in Haiti for long-term relief efforts, following the massive earthquake. Another 15 million US dollars donation was made to establish a new Children’s Village in Tirupati, India.
