Cathedral Choral Society Presents "The Joy of Christmas" at The Washington Cathedral

WASHINGTON - Nov. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Washington, DC – Get into the holiday spirit with the Cathedral Choral Society (CCS), under Music Director J. Reilly Lewis as they present The Joy of Christmas ( on Saturday, December 14 at noon and 4:00pm and Sunday, December 15 at 4:00pm at the Washington National Cathedral.  The Joy of Christmas performance is a grand tradition of the Choral Society spanning nearly four decades.

This year’s performance will combine traditional carols with new musical discoveries including the world premiere of the 2013 Carol Commission, made possible by the Richard Wayne Dirksen Memorial Endowment Fund.  American composer Richard Einhorn has composed a neo-Medieval setting of the thirteenth-century text, Syng We, Syng We!

CCS welcomes premier Latino chorus, Cantigas, under the direction of its founder Diana Sáez, brings music from Latin America. The concert will also feature the  Washington Symphonic Brass, Carillonneur Edward Nassor and Organist Todd Fickley.

“We are very excited to be collaborating with Cantigas and the Washington Symphony Brass.  This concert will have something for everyone and be the perfect way to welcome in the Holiday Season” said J.
