DETROIT - Nov. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- R Frederick Riddle is an accomplished novelist with such works as the Bible based Perished: The World That Was and its sequel The Rise of Shem. These books earned him four and five star reviews!

While all his books have been self-published (AuthorHouse & PublishAmerica), this newest venture gives him virtual control of all aspects of publishing. Teaming with Smashwords.com, he not only has control of publishing but is also able to benefit from their strength in the marketplace.

Dead Eye Will is published only as an eBook. That means lower prices for the reader and no inventory concerns for Mr. Riddle. As both author and publisher he is able to offer the book at very low retail, yet offer a discount (coupon ZV87C) that lowers it even more.

R Frederick Riddle has been self-published since he began writing. Although self-publishing firms allow a great deal more freedom than the traditional publishers, they still had ultimate control. By moving to Smashwords.com Mr. Riddle has elevated his position to where he now has virtual control; it literally puts him in charge.

This new direction is limited right now to Dead Eye Will, but is expected to have eventual impact on his other books as well. Although not currently planning a printed version of his newest novel, he is looking into it.

Dead Eye Will begins in the War of 1812 and continues in after years in the Michigan Territory. The book highlights the early history as seen in the 1820s and '30s regarding the cities Detroit and Pontiac, bringing these historic cities alive.

The hero is William Riddle, the brother of R Frederick's ancestor James Riddle. One of the most surprising and intriguing facts discovered by R Frederick as he researched for the novel is that his family tree traces back to John McMillan, ‘The Apostle of Presbyterianism in the West.’ He was the grandfather of all the Riddle children and makes appearances in the book.

R Frederick believes his new eBook format is on the cutting edge of publishing.

"eBooks are a rising force and I believe will be the primary format of future book sales, although paper books will always be around. I also believe that Smashwords will be, if not already, a giant in the industry. I am personally proud to be a part of what may be called a revolution."
