Shoppers To Enjoy A 'Tree-mendous' Christmas At Chester's Forum Shopping Centre

CHESTER, U.K. - Nov. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- CHESTER is set for a ‘tree-mendous’ Christmas this year thanks to the imminent arrival of the Forum Shopping Centre’s Christmas Tree Festival 2013.

The event – taking place for the first time in the city – courtesy of the Forum and the Backford Christmas Tree Farm at Backford near Chester,  centres around the arrival and decoration of  a ‘mini-forest’ of twelve magnificent trees which have been donated by the tree farm.

“When the trees arrive, each will be sponsored by a charity, a commercial concern, an educational establishment or an individual, who will then start to decorate them in true Christmas style,” explained Forum Centre Manager Mr Lawrence Allen.

“Then we will invite members of the public to take part in a Christmas competition to decide which are the best dressed trees in the display. By voting, shoppers will get the chance to win £25 shopping vouchers which can be used anywhere in the Forum Shopping Centre while tree sponsors are rewarded with certificates and heaps of praise.”

The trees, which will be sited in the Forum’s Main Square, are expected to attract hundreds of admirers after their arrival at the centre on Saturday November 30^th. They then have to be fully decorated, ready for the judging, before Saturday December 7^th.

Sponsors will be encouraged to nominate their deserving recipients while the trees remain on site until December 21^st.  They will be delivered, the following day, to the recipients who could be OAPs or families struggling in the current economic climate.

A spokeswoman for Backford Christmas Tree Farm said: “We are delighted to be taking part in the Christmas Tree Festival because we always like to support our local communities. And with more than 20 years experience in providing quality Christmas Trees, I have no doubt we’ll find some beautiful trees for the event.”

Christmas decorations and the arrival of Santa’s post box at the centre will complete the Forum’s Christmas scene.

“Here at the Forum we always really look forward to celebrating the Season of Goodwill with our customers and this year is no exception,” added Mr Allen. “Our Christmas Tree Festival will be one of the city’s must-see events”.
