Safety of Transport of Flammable Liquids

JAMAICA, N.Y. - Nov. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Safety of Transport of Flammable Liquids
Transport of flammable liquids should be accorded to by the law. Flammable liquids should not be in contact with any other material as much as possible as they will easily combust when the temperature becomes higher. That’s why there are such laws and rules to follow when transporting flammable liquids from one place to another.

Flammable Liquid Transport A cargo tank full of flammable liquid shall not be allowed to travel unless the tank has been approved by the proper authorities and has a permit to transport combustible liquids. The tank should follow the permitted weight of 500 gallons per tank and that overloading the said tank will have accumulated penalties. Also, the cargo tank should be attended at all times in order for the safety of the flammable liquids to be kept intact. All cargo tanks transporting flammable liquids should have a United Nations (UN) hazmat identification sticker placed on all the sides of the tank for the material being transported. The cargo tanks should be securely fastened to the truck or the running gear attached to them which consequently allow the materials to travel. The warning sign stickers on every hazmat delivery truck are present for the reason of accident damage protection. Another reminder is to place one or more fire extinguishers in the cargo vehicle and those fire extinguishers should be maintained in good condition at all times and should be kept in an accessible place inside the tank vehicle. Those are just some of the laws that should be followed when transporting flammable liquids. The UN has made these strict rules and regulation not only for the safety transport of flammable liquids but for the wellbeing of the society and the sustainability of the environment. Information and details in this article was gathered through the Board of Fire Prevention Regulations: Transportation of Flammable and Combustible Liquids Page on Mass (http://www.mass.gov/eopss/docs/dfs/osfm/cmr/cmr-secured/5...)
