Nov. 18, 2013 - Registration is still open for the 23rd Annual Lost Valley Educational Center Permaculture Design Course (PDC) with
Jude Hobbs, Rick Valley & Marisha Auerbach, which will be taking place December 3 – 16, 2012 at Lost Valley Educational Center in Dexter, Oregon. Students will experience
a unique ecovillage immersion along with hands-on and classroom teaching of
holistic design from three of the most
respected sustainability instructors in the Northwest.
The PDC course is certified by the Permaculture Institute of North America and
will cover all the elements of such an internationally-
recognized course. These include Permaculture Ethics & Principles, Mapping & Design, Natural Cycles & Pattern Recognition, Observation & Site Analysis, Garden Design & Establishment, Plants & Planting Strategies, Water Harvesting, Management & Conservation, Soil Building & Ecology, Animals in the System, Forests, Agroforestry & Tree Crops, Eco-Building & Appropriate Technology, Urban Permaculture & Village Design, and Cooperative Economics. There will also be a field trip to a similar education center site, a group design for a specific site as capstone, and a celebratory final evening.
