The Ark- The Experience of a Lifetime

Nov. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- The Ark Nursery and Out of School Club SPACE provide the highest quality childcare for children between the ages of 0 and 14 in the Calder Valley.  As two friends and new mothers, Jo Brock and Heidi Bingham were faced with the search for childcare and when they couldn’t find what they were looking for - a business was born!  As mothers with experience of the market, The Ark’s standards and beliefs are based on what they would want for their own children - and 13 years later, it seems these values are shared by many other parents.

The nursery and out of school club are nested in a stunning  four acre site in the West Yorkshire countryside - children and staff can look over amazing views, take walks to see animals, or sit in green pastures and socialise with friends!  The Ark team are passionate about the outdoors in all stages of your child’s life - balancing a healthy lifestyle with fresh air, indoor stimulation and a balanced diet.  Students are separated according to the developmental stage of children.  In ‘The Ark’, young babies and toddlers are closely watched and progression is based on interaction with other children, group activities and introductions to new experiences. SPACE offers a place for older children to relax with friends providing breakfast, school drop off and collection, and quiet places to complete homework.  Of course all The Ark’s programmes have been recognised by OFSTED where in recent inspection they were judged to be “Outstanding.”

The Ark boasts motivated and enthusiastic employees who work together with parents, keeping them up to date through newsletters and notice boards. Of course there is an open door policy and staff encourage parents to drop in for daily chats!  Safety is of course high on the agenda - CCTV monitors the premises and doors are accessed using a coded keypad.  Only authorised people will be allowed to collect your child.  Every staff member is checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and everyone in The Ark team is trained in first aid, health & safety and food hygiene.  The Ark make every effort to fulfill any special requirements for children - whether this is special education needs or specific dietary requirements due to allergies or religious beliefs!
