Nicaragua presents its investment opportunities to Madrid

Nicaragua presented its business opportunities with Spain in the “Investment and Trade Opportunities in Nicaragua” forum that took place on November 14th in Madrid.
 
MANAGUA, Nicaragua - Nov. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Nicaragua presented its business opportunities with Spain in the “Investment and Trade Opportunities in Nicaragua” forum that took place on November 14th in Madrid, an event organized by PRONicaragua with the support of Nicaragua’s embassy in Spain and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE, for its acronym in Spanish). More than 100 businessmen interested in learning about Nicaragua’s business opportunities participated in the activity.

The nicaraguan delegation that participated in the event was headed by General Álvaro Baltodano, Presidential Delegate for Investments; Paul Oquist, Private Secretary for National Policies; Orlando Solórzano, Minister of Development, Industry and Trade; Emilio Rappaccioli, Minister of Energy and Mines; Ana Isabel Morales, Minister of Interior; and José Adán Aguerri, President of the Superior Council of the Private Enterprise (COSEP, for its acronym in Spanish).

The forum was inaugurated by Jesús Terciado, Vicepresident of CEOE and President of the Spanish Confederation for the Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME, for its acronym in Spanish), who highlighted Nicaragua’s stable economic growth and promoted collaboration between companies of the two countries for big investment projects.

The conference program included topics discussed like Nicaragua’s economic performance in recent years, the government and private sector alliance, Nicaragua’s Grand Canal project, the opportunities provided by the Association Agreement between Central America and the European Union, Nicaragua’s energy sector transformation, and the strategies implemented to strengthen security in the country.

Carlos Esco Sampériz, Telefonica’s Latin America Institutional Relations Director, concluded the forum with his company’s experience in Nicaragua, highlighting their interest to continue being partners of Nicaragua.
