John I Lovell Elected Chairman of the Board of American Society of Travel Agents

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Nov. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Grand Rapids, MI (November 13, 2013) -- John I. Lovell, President of Breton Travel, was elected Chairman of the Board of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) at ASTA’s Global Convention in September.

ASTA is the leading global advocate for travel agents, the travel industry and the traveling public.  ASTA members represent 80% of all travel sold in the United States and its membership is growing internationally. ASTA’s history of travel industry advocacy traces back to its founding more than 80 years ago.  Their mission is to facilitate the business of selling travel through effective representation, shared knowledge and the enhancement of professionalism.

Lovell is a 31-year travel industry veteran.  He is also a second-generation, retail travel agency owner.  Breton Travel celebrated its fortieth anniversary in September as Lovell was being elected to ASTA’s highest office.
