Starting her career in 1951 with a degree in mechanical engineering, Dr. Magdallena Caproiu has worked in higher education teaching mathematical modeling for designing equipment for agriculture. Dr. Caproiu taught in master program in Romania until 1986, where she was forced to retire because of their policy in Romania. At almost 60 years old, Dr. Caproiu moved to California, where she took ESL classes to learn English and joined the Amercan Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering wher she presented research papers. In 1992, became a tutor for mathematics in the college center in CA. From then she became a adjunct and then full time faculty of masthematics and the Math learning Specialist in the learning center/math center.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 3 p.m. EST, Dr. Caproiu will be a guest on Spotlite Radio where she will discuss how she has participated in different conferences for tutoring, as well as working for the international certification for the tutors.  A very honorable moment in Dr. Caproiu’s life is when she was invited to Oxford England to do a presentation about Math Anxiety. She did a similar presentation at the 18th Learning Cnoference at the university of Mauritius Africa  where she discussed the ways of   overcoming these anxieties. Dr. Caproiu is very successful in her home country, Romania, as well, where she has published about 100 papers and text books. and in USA papers for diferent conferences as well as textbooks

Dr. Caproiu uses her expertise to develop classes, such as: Managing Math Anxiety, Math study strategies, advance tutoring with different learning theories, as well as math for nursing. and Dosage calculation To help the students, she has made booklets for the classes that she developed as well as providing professional development presentations based on different learning theories to improve education.  Giving back to college students, Dr. Caproiu has done many grants inside of the college and is a donor for many scholarships. She is successful on many committees in the college, mentoring students to help them achieve their dreams.
