Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) to Hold Annual Holiday of the Heart Gala

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- WHAT: Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), a non-profit organization located in the Rampart District of Los Angeles, will hold it’s annual fundraising gala Friday night at the historic Beverly Hills Hotel. More that 350 guests are expected to attend. The evening will include a silent and live auction and special peformances by HOLA youth. Philanthropist Michael Ziering will be honored and all proceeds from the event will benefit HOLA.

WHY: Heart of Los Angeles resides in the culturally rich, but economically struggling Rampart District, where one-third of the area’s families live at or below the poverty line. Severe school budget cuts have resulted in fewer critical services being offered to low-income families in dire need. HOLA provides rigorous and engaging after school programs that invest in the academic welfare of each student and empower them to pursue their potential and change their life trajectory. With over 2.5 million youth under the age of 18 living in the city limits of Los Angeles, it is critical that HOLA continue to sustain these programs and provide as many students as possible with hope for a better life, a community that believes in them and a place they can call home. Heart of Los Angeles gives kids a chance to succeed in life.
