The Ventura Film Festival has hosted well known celebrities and events like the 50th Anniversary of West Side Story and it's entire Academy Award winning cast and gave a lifetime achievement award to Academy Award winner George Charkiris. The Tahoe Film Festival is an international film festival and is a 100% volunteer based charity fund-raiser that raises money and awareness for lake, forest, and ocean preservation. There are no employees and all profits are donated directly to select environmental non-profit organizations. The Tahoe Film Festival showcases films from around the world in all film genres each year in the “Tahoe” area in northern California. Jordan Older is the sole founder and executive director of the Ventura Film Festival. Jordan is a graduate of Ventura High School and studied Physics at UCLA. Jordan has been part of the US National Soccer Training camp (soccer’s dream team) and played professional soccer on 3 continents and in 7 countries including the Brazilian 1st Division and professional teams in Germany and Switzerland. Jordan has starred in a number of national and worldwide television commercials for Snickers, Intel, and Phillips and has appeared in popular television shows Power Rangers and Sweet Valley High and in feature films such as Clueless and Strange Days. Jordan has been a SAG member since 1996. At the Ventura Film Festival Jordan Older has been responsible for successfully bringing in Academy Award winning celebrities and films, and world premieres including Academy Award winner George Chakiris, Academy Award winner TJ Martin, Academy Award winner Shirley Jones, sold out screenings of Academy Award winning films The Cove, Inside Job, and Undefeated, and the 50th Anniversary of West Side Story. Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both Nevada and California. It is home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's economy and reputation. Mountain and lake scenery are attractions throughout the year. The Nevada side also includes large casinos.
