NuFun Games Launches Tangram Fury Expansion Card Decks
For Those Who Love Tangram Fury and Want More Cards, or For Those Who Simply Love Tangrams
This new series of tangram cards maintains the same features as the cards available in the Tangram Fury game. They are dual-sided with images of each puzzle shown in "Fan mode" on one side (which shows how each tan should be placed to solve the tangram puzzle) and in "Expert mode" on the reverse side (which shows only a silhouette of the tangram puzzle).
The cards in the expansion card decks follow the same color-coding that the cards in the Tangram Fury games follow. All cards depicting "Objects & Shapes" are red, cards depicting "People" are yellow, cards depicting birds or fish are blue, and cards depicting "Animals" are green. These cards are intended to supplement the cards in the Tangram Fury game and can be added to the game's library of cards.
"When we were developing Tangram Fury, we knew we wanted to add more images to the card decks," Doug Nufer, inventor of Tangram Fury, said. "There are just so many possibilities for unique and fun images. It was tough to limit each category to 50 cards. These expansion decks open up the possibilities to include dozens and even hundreds of more cards. In fact, the card holders in the Tangram Fury game were intentionally made deeper than necessary so that additional cards such as these could be added, without players needing to buy new holders, or worry about how to store new cards in the game box. Everything still fits."
The launch of Tangram Fury expansion card decks includes a dozen separate decks. Each card within a deck follows a specific theme. The themes are similar to those for the Tangram Packs and Tangram eBooks previously released by NuFun Games and Peepsock Press. Decks include: Christmas Nativity, 12 Days of Christmas, The Alphabet, Hawaii, Numbers, the Great Outdoors, the Old West, Americana, Science, Sports, Utah, and a Yooper deck.
"I get asked about the 'Yooper Deck'," Doug said. "'What's up with that?' Well, with my dad in the Air Force, I moved around a lot when I was very young. I spent most of my youth living in Houghton, Michigan where I graduated from high school. That's located on what's sometimes called the 'thumb' of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, or UP. People from the UP often refer to themselves as 'Yoopers.' I loved my Yooper upbringing and designed a series of tangram puzzles that specifically honor some of the unique sites, activities, and people that are fortunate enough to live there."
When asked if there will be more expansion decks, Doug replied, "How can there not be? I've got themes that haven't been touched in the cards yet, such as Aquatics, Birds, and Animals. I've personally designed over 700 tangram puzzles to date, and there seems to be no stopping. I'm sure there will be more great designs to come."
The tangram expansion card decks can be used to supplement the Tangram Fury game, or used separately. Players can solve puzzles at a leisurely pace, or race each other, or the clock. The Tangram Fury Expansion Card Decks can be found here: http://www.tangramfury.com/
A free tangram pattern can be downloaded from the Tangram Fury website here: http://www.tangramfury.com/
The main website http://www.tangramfury.com, contains a great number of free educational and entertainment materials ranging from activity sheets to videos. It also contains a tangram library as well as access to hundreds of tangram puzzles, all of which can be solved by the same seven tans of the original tangram puzzle.
