CARY, N.C. - Nov. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Cary, North Carolina based Wake Plastic Surgery is hosting a three-day event in an effort to raise money and basic living supplies for The Carying Place (TCP). The event will be held on December 5th, 6th and 7th at Wake Plastic Surgery’s Cary, North Carolina office.

Near and dear to the team of Wake Plastic Surgery’s heart is the importance of giving back to the community. Each year Wake Plastic Surgery selects a local organization as the benefactor of their fundraising efforts. The Carying Place was selected because of its distinguished record at helping local families gain independence and self-sufficiency.

“Each year our generous patients join hands to bring holiday happiness to families in need,” said Lynn Stoeckel, Office Manager at Wake Plastic Surgery. “We are looking forward to another successful event that results in positively contributing to the lives of some of our local families,” Stoeckel added.

Founded in 1993, The Carying Place, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, teaches homeless, working families with children life skills needed for independent living while providing short-term housing and support. Funded largely by sponsors and donations, each charitable contribution goes toward helping Wake County families live a better, self-sufficient life.

During the three-day event, Wake Plastic Surgery will be accepting specific items from TCP’s Wish List. The list includes basic living needs such as bath mats, pillows, bed sheets and cooking utensils as well as gift cards from a variety of retailers. The complete list of needed items can be viewed by clicking here (http://www.wakeplasticsurgery.com/images/NeedsfortheTheCa...).

“While it is important to give back all year, the holidays remind us of our blessings and open our hearts to those who need it,” said William T. Stoeckel, MD, Plastic Surgeon and owner at Wake Plastic Surgery. “By working together we can help brighten the lives of local families with gifts of need,” Stoeckel added.

In exchange for the contribution of an item from the TCP’s Wish List, Wake Plastic Surgery is offering 25% off all skincare products and service packages including Botox® and Juvéderm®, plus special pricing on Latisse®.

About The Carying Place

Founded in 1993, The Carying Place has served over 300 families. As a non-profit transitional housing program in Wake County, TCP supports families in their journey to independence and self-sufficiency. This is achieved through the mentoring and guidance of Support Partners and Caring Sponsors.  Families are paired with a volunteer team of Support Partners and Caring Sponsors that provide weekly guidance in managing personal finances, setting attainable goals, seeking permanent affordable housing and maintaining a job.  Over a 16-week period, these families learn about the skills required for self-sufficiency through mandatory once-a-week meeting with Support Partners at a local church. About 90% of families who graduate from TCP are living independently and gainfully employed at least a year after completing the program. Currently, the program supports 7 families at a time.  Families live in apartments leased by TCP in an environment similar to permanent housing except rent and utilities are paid by TCP.
