BUFFALO, N.Y. - Nov. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- The rising costs of a college education are leading American colleges and universities toward a precarious future. Throughout his college teaching career, Dr. Alex Bitterman has urged students and their parents to do some homework before making a decision about college. Dr. Bitterman’s new book The College Question: Why college (as we know it) isn’t working for the Millennial generation is now available from Amazon.com and retailers nationwide.

Dr. Bitterman says, “Too many well-intended parents are sending their children to college because they think it is the right move. Unfortunately, most students are not ready for college right out of high school. Students are pressured into making choices that often wind up haunting them for years and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to correct.”

After more than a decade of teaching college students, Dr. Bitterman wrote The College Question because he feels that college just isn’t working the way it should for Millennial generation students. “I hope this book will provide some insight for students and their parents who are considering college to make the choices that are right for them.”

He notes, “The College Question explores options for students in the Millennial generation and leads them through the college decision-making process.”

Early readers of The College Question are enthusiastic. “This book answers important questions students and parents are asking. It is long overdue,” says one parent.

“The College Question addresses many of the worries we had when sending our sons off to college,” says another parent.

Alex Bitterman, Ph.D. has been a college professor since 2001. He earned a Master’s degree in Architecture and a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University at Buffalo.
