"Sock it to Cancer Fundraiser" Raises Money for Roberta Rumfelt
Pure American Naturals is selling mohair socks to raise funds for local woman battling cancer
Bobbie Jo Rumfelt is local to Millerstown, Pa. She battled cancer a number of years ago, and it has recently returned. She has sought treatment, but the prognosis is discouraging. The doctors have estimated two years in which Bobbie Jo will be able to continue making memories with her loved ones.
Bobbie Joe and her husband, Lee, have a son named Ethan who is in first grade. One of the family's biggest dreams is to go to Walt Disney World. Friends, family and the community are coming together to turn this dream into a reality.
Sock it to Cancer provides the opportunity for people to purchase luxurious mohair socks to help defer the costs of the trip. All proceeds from sock sales will go to the "Bobbie Jo's Hopes and Dreams" fund.
"We wanted to be able to make an impact," said Glen Cauffman, owner of Pure American Naturals. "Setting up 'Sock it to Cancer' was the least we can do."
Mohair socks are probably the best pair of socks you'll ever own. They will keep your feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They don't smell after you wear them and they are machine-washable. They stay fresh and dry quickly. They are the ideal sock choice for any conditions.
There are anklets, crew and boot mohair socks available for purchase in a variety of weights at www.sockittocancer.net.
For anyone who would like to make a donation to the Rumfelt family, there is a fund set up at the Juniata Valley Bank in Millerstown. Donations can be directly sent to: Bobbie Jo's Hopes and Dreams c/o Juniata Valley Bank, P.O. Box 749, Millerstown, PA 17062.
