Follow on Google News | Men Seeking Long Term Care Insurance Information Online ReportsA just published analysis released today by the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance reveals that those seeking long term care insurance information online tend to be male and under age 55.
"Our mistaken belief has been that more women are interested in the issue of long term care planning," explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance, a national trade group http://www.aaltci.org. The organization analyzed data on 40,000 visitors to the Association's website over the past month. Over half, 54.15 percent of those visiting the website were men, the AALTCI report notes. "What surprised us most was the ages of those seeking information," "It is possible the data is skewed by Google because they can better ascertain ages for younger online users," Slome cited. "However, it is an important trend that we want to watch and address. Interest among younger people is good for the industry." The Association found that the average individual spent two and a half minutes on the site. "Most people spend less than a minute but many spent quite a bit more time which indicates a high degree of interest in the topic of long term care insurance planning," Slome reports. The American Association for Long Term Care Insurance was established in 1998 for the purpose of creating heightened awareness among consumers for the importance of long term care planning.
