Hiestand's New Novel Rockets Up to Top Ten

PORTLAND, Ore. - Nov. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- From November 5-7, 2013, Harvey Hiestand's new novel Dystopia Now has oscillated between #3 and #10 in the satire category of free books on Amazon.com.  As part of the book's launch, the Kindle version will continue to be available for free through Saturday, November 9.

Kirkus Reviews awarded the novel a Kirkus Star, calling it "a timely, and timeless, classic."  ForeWord reviews said, "Dystopia Now is highly recommended for those who like a dose of humor with their speculative fiction," and awarded it five stars out of five.

Harvey Hiestand lives in Portland, Oregon, and is a senior studying geography and writing at Portland State University.  He has previously published a number of short stories.  Dystopia Now is his debut novel.  In a one-line synopsis, Hiestand calls it "[a] story about a man who does everything he can to remain uninvolved, even as the city he lives in burns down around him--and he succeeds in the end."
