A gateway to opportunities in oil and gas LIOG-2013 Summit lures businesses and investors

Nov. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Beirut, November 5th. The second annual edition of the “Lebanon International Oil and Gas Summit” (LIOG 2013) is increasingly drawing the attention of local and international businesses and investors for opening doors to endless opportunities in the oil and gas services industry and supply chain.

A strong agenda and an impressive number of confirmed high-caliber speakers, delegates, sponsors and supporters, have made the Summit consolidate its position as the leading event in Lebanon and the East Mediterranean for 2013.

In its second edition, the LIOG 2013 Summit will take place on 4 and 5 December 2013 in the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut. It will be held under the patronage of the Lebanese Ministry of Energy and Water and in collaboration with the Petroleum Administration Lebanon.

LIOG 2013 has also attracted the support of major international and national organizations. It has earned the support and endorsement of the International Gas Union (IGU), a worldwide organization promoting the progress of the natural gas industry around the globe. Locally, the summit is being supported by the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, along with other organizations.

In addition to high ranking officials and executives from public and private sectors, the summit will host oil and gas exploration and production companies along with a wide range of service and logistics companies. LIOG 2013 Summit will present the insight of more than 30 leading speakers from the oil and gas industry, and related sectors who will discuss a range of important topics on the Summit agenda, including:

·         The required Services and infra structures and the associated investment opportunities

·         Integrity and EHS practices

·         Banking Services, and the ability of Lebanese banks to provide the needed support

·         Employment and sourcing skills within a vibrant international labour market

These topics will fall under four main themes: services and the supply chain; professional services, global markets for oil and gas, and human resources.

“A total of eight sessions have been strategically structured around those themes, to cover most of the topics of interest to the sector, particularly in the post-bidding-round phase,” explained Gilbert, “we have taken one more step forward hoping to partly contribute to setting the foundation for such a lucrative industry where experts believe that most opportunities exist.”

The event will also host an integrated exhibition, and a business-to-business service, making the event a real platform for networking, corporate branding and forging actual business deals.

Perfect timing

The LIOG 2013 Summit comes at a time where prequalified operators are getting ready to finalize their bidding and start the exploration drilling phase offshore Lebanon.

Suppliers, service providers and contractors, along with Local and international investors, are equally preparing themselves to join in for the development of Lebanon’s promising oil and gas industry.

Renno said, “It is a fact that Lebanon’s oil and gas sector is developing.We can feel the interest of the local and international companies in this emerging sector, where vast business opportunities are being made available.”

Experts expect that many international medium-sized companies will launch operations in Lebanon to support offshore operating companies immediately after the closure of the first bid round. Those companies in turn will need to deal with suppliers and service providers, bringing along additional opportunities to Lebanese businesses, manufacturers and investors.
