PRLog -- On Friday, November 1st, retirees Roy and Diane Vuncannon, received their new home after losing nearly everything when a tornado hit the Newalla area on May 19
th, 2013. Partnering with local businesses and churches, Daystar Television Network was able to donate a 1260 sq. ft. 2012 Clayton motor home to the couple.
Along with the home, Daystar completely furnished the 3 bedroom / 2 bath space with all new furniture, complete with a new stove, refrigerator, air conditioning unit, washer and dryer, and basic household essentials.
Prior to the tornado, the Vuncannon’s had a mechanic shop, and raised animals on their property. “They didn’t have any insurance at all. They lost their home, they lost their business - he had a business going - totally destroyed. All of their vehicles were destroyed – everything,”
says Pastor Dave Tompkins of Mending Hearts Church, a local church that has contributed to the tornado relief efforts in the area.
Mending Hearts Church, in partnership with Doug Stringer’s ministry, Somebody Cares, has also provided the couple with fencing for their livestock, a storage building, a storm shelter and a front and back deck for the new home.
Daystar also partnered with Russell Dobbins at Cheka, a local construction company, for all the contracting work done onsite.
