SIPOS’ precision control secures Copenhagen contracts

Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- SIPOS Aktorik’s variable speed actuators will replace gear-motor assembly on inlet and outlet overflow weirs at aerating basins in two Copenhagen waste water treatment plants located in Lynetten and Damhusaaen.

Real-time communication will be achieved with the actuation solution which will be installed with PROFIBUS DP loop and LWL interface. Precision control of the water level in aerating basins will be assured through frequency converter control and non-intrusive precision position feedback.

Key reasons for the selection of SIPOS’ actuation solution included variable speed capability with speed reduction in end positions to decrease loading on weir mechanics and easy adjustment of end positions.

Lynetten is the largest waste water scheme in Denmark.  With a power plant and 135 employees, it is reported to be the world’s most energy effective sludge incineration plant
