Cllr Coppinger said: “I was very pleased to be able to open this wonderful new service that will give first class nursing care to people in our borough. Caring for our ageing population is a key aim of the council and it is reassuring to know that services are being developed to secure the health and wellbeing of people with dementia.” Maizie Mears-Owens, Care UK’s head of dementia services, helped to develop the new service. She said: “The suite and the rooms look beautiful and they make the most of natural daylight, which we know benefits people with dementia. “The suite has been designed to minimise confusion, with special signage and use of colour so that residents can move around safely without becoming disorientated. This, teamed with first class nursing care, will create the perfect home for people with the condition who want to have choices.” End
