MIAMI - Nov. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) South Florida and Puerto Rico Chapter partnered with the Miami Seaquarium to host a Seal Swim for four children and two young adults under 30 who are blood cancer survivors on November 1, 2013. Leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes are blood cancers that can affect the bone marrow, the lymph nodes and other parts of the lymphatic system. To beat their cancer, these survivors endured countless rounds of chemotherapy and painful treatments. They are an inspiration to all.

The Seal Swim program at the Miami Seaquarium is a unique deep and shallow water interaction with harbor seals. It begins with changing into a wetsuit and then enjoying a brief educational and safety talk with one of the seal trainers. During the interaction, guests are swimming freely alongside the seals and are then introduced to their seal friends to receive hugs, kisses, and take part in a fun training session.
