American Medical Depot New Corporate Headquarters Qualifies for LEED Silver Certification

MIRAMAR, Fla. - Dec. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- American Medical Depot’s 2-story 60,000 square foot corporate headquarters building was recognized for its efforts in six key areas: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, indoor environmental quality, and innovation in design.

Key building elements include a high-efficiency HVAC magnetic water chilling system; use of specialized roofing materials to minimize the heat – island effect; incorporation of natural lighting through 31 sky lights; installation of low-voltage LED lighting systems, a 20% reduction in water usage, diversion of 75% of construction waste and the addition of UV lighting in the air handlers to kill bacteria, germs, viruses, mildew, mold spores as well as destroying VOC’s and eliminating odors.
