thumbprint cellars, Continues its Leave Your Mark Awareness and Fundraising Campaign

November is Movember; Raising Funds and Awareness for Men's Health Issues.

HEALDSBURG, Calif. - Oct. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- “Just like the thumbprint I place on every bottle of wine I craft, I think it’s important that we leave a mark on the community and its important causes,” said thumbprint cellars owner/winemaker Scott Lindstrom-Dake, “We make donations all year long, but this year we began a ‘Leave your Mark’ campaign to focus on a series of causes over the last weeks of 2013. We started with October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and now in November, it’s about the guys.  Movember is an annual global event that focuses on men’s health issues,” said Lindstrom-Dake. “During the month of November men worldwide grow mustaches and use their facial hair as conversation starters to raise awareness and money,” continued Lindstrom-Dake.   “It’s grow time!” exclaimed thumbprint cellars’ Operations Manager Daniel Weber. “Movember all started in Australia where a mustache is known as a Mo,” said Weber. “And it’s spread worldwide from there. Last year team thumbstache had a small team of Mo growers. This year we hope to have more people join our team. People can make donations or join team thumbstache and “Grow a Mo,” at our official Movember page, us.movember.com/team/967737,” said Weber.

Thumbprint cellars’ “Leave your Mark” campaign will create a “Canvas of Generosity” crafted from visitors leaving their colorful thumbprints on a special canvas in the tasting room over the next three months. “We’re a tasting room and an art gallery,” said Carla Jeffries, thumbprint’s Director of Business Operations. “It seemed natural to create a work of art by inviting those who join us in supporting these causes to leave their mark too,” The mural will then serve as an art exhibit and testament to the commitment of thumbprint cellars and their guests to leave a mark on causes that make a positive impact in their community.

The “Leave Your Mark” campaign continues through November with Movember and a canned food drive to benefit the Redwood Empire Food bank from November 16th through December 18th. The food drive is in partnership with the Wine Walk Healdsburg Alliance, a collective of downtown wineries. A donation of one can of food is good for one complimentary wine tasting at participating wineries.  The official kick-off for the drive is November 16th with, "Cooking for Cans" an inter-winery chili cook-off competition and collective complimentary wine tasting event. More details can be found at winewalkhealdsburg.com.In December the “Leave Your Mark” campaign will focus on The Living Room, the only day center in Sonoma County specifically serving homeless and at-risk women and their children.
