School Kids in Sandy Go Through Interactive Anti Drug Workshop Offered by Local Businesses

SANDY, Utah - Oct. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Last Saturday, Community Outreach – Sandy offered a free community workshop to teach local school kids how to say NO to drugs. The workshop included an interactive presentation to get the kids and parents involved. The seminar was presented by Utah’s Leading Family Safety Expert, Brett Lechtenberg and was hosted by Personal Mastery Martial Arts. He taught the attendees of the seminar some super powerful techniques to help kids say NO to drugs with confidence and walk away from a person or situation where drugs are involved.

Some of the material covered in this workshop included different kinds of drugs that you might encounter, 4 things parents can do with their kids to ensure a drug fee life, secrets to saying NO to drugs, and drug safe zones and people that kids can go to if they need to get themselves out of a situation where drugs are involved. One of the secrets to saying NO to drugs that they covered in the workshop was that sometimes saying no just one time will not work, so you need to have multiple ways to say no. They learned 5 different ways to say NO to drugs and also role-played how to do it so that the kids were able to practice saying NO in a risk-free environment.

Community Outreach – Sandy was excited to provide this opportunity for local school kids to learn how to say NO to drugs. Their goal is to create a happier, healthier, and safer community.
