Other Magazine -Free Promotional Digital Issue out at Midnight 31 October

SYDNEY - Oct. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- OTHER magazine is a new, international biannual publication that explores the world of the unknown 'other'. It is a magazine that will appeal to readers that want to delve into the unknown 'other', who want to look into the unusual, unique and creative pursuits that have an alternative spiritual, cultural, humanitarian, artistic or occult theme. It is simultaneously a voice for those that are exploring the 'other' possibilities and a lens into a world that is, by definition a departure from the established and accepted norm.

The first issue, out at midnight on 31 October is free and can be downloaded from the OTHER magazine website. Even though it is a shortened form of the full publication that is due out in December 2013, the free copy, provocatively numbered as 'Issue 0', has over 70 pages of articles, reviews and photographs and is a real taste of what the editors at OTHER magazine have planned for the official launch in December 2013. Issue 0 includes articles on a range of topics including Ethan Doyle White's essay Becoming a Witch: Becoming Other and the first part of Gemma Lucy Smart's article, The Deluded Craft, both examining modern pagan practices in relation to our contemporary culture.

There are reviews of exhibitions, including the Windows to the Sacred show featuring works by many of the most famous occultists of the past century by Other magazine Editor Damiana Fortune, and From the Dawn to Dusk, a retrospective look at the artwork of Vali Myers that was on display in Melbourne by D G Mattichak Jr. The free Issue 0 also features artist interviews, including avant garde Sydney collage artist Dame Dismember with OTHER Magazine writer Nicolee Ferris, and with occult dance troupe leader, Sarah 'Jezebel' Wood by Tim Hartridge.

The free Issue 0 of OTHER magazine also includes great images, sharp contemporary design and an introduction to our team of editors, who discuss their vision for OTHER magazine. There are also music and book reviews and a feature on Japanese horror that includes the Richard Freeman short story Small Gladiators as well as a graphic look at the dark side of Sydney's history in the photo essay City of Shadows by Peter Doyle.
