Make-a-wish® Receives Largest Walk Sponsorship To-date From Allegiant Air

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Charlotte, NC — Allegiant Air is making wishes come true, thanks to a $24,000 donation to Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina’s Walk for Wishes events. Hosting three walks in Asheville, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem, Make-A-Wish looks to raise enough funds to grant over 35 wishes for children in our community battling life-threatening medical conditions.

A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many of them, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illnesses. For their doctors, nurses and other health professionals, the wish experience works in concert with medicine to make their patients feel better, emotionally and even physically.

Allegiant Air recently announced flights between Concord Regional Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport, making Allegiant the first airline offering passenger service at Concord Regional Airport. Flights are scheduled to begin on Friday, December 20, 2013 and will run Friday and Monday mornings. Their affordable fares and non-stop flights will make the wishes to visit Central Florida theme parks easier to grant.

Allegiant Public Relations Specialist, Lindsay Hernquist thinks aligning with Make-A-Wish is beneficial for both sides. Hernquist states, “Allegiant has built a business around helping make vacation possible in small communities throughout the country. By establishing Make-A-Wish as its primary charity, Allegiant is able to help make wishes possible in the communities it serves. Allegiant donates travel to wish kids and their families in cities across the country.”
