World Class Recording Studio Responds to Home Studio Challenge

Dark Horse Audio Institute Celebrates Over 100 Graduates in 3 years

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- As the music business has shifted dramatically in the past 10 years, traditional recording studios have watched their business drop as musicians and producers have turned to more affordable home studios.  While Dark Horse Recording Studio has a reputation and world class facilities that have kept it in demand, the owner, Robin Crow, noticed this trend coming and decided to start a school to train future audio engineers and music producers (http://www.darkhorseinstitute.com/music-production-school?utm_source=PROct2013).This lineage from a world class recording studio is what sets Dark Horse Institute apart from other traditional audio engineering programs.

Dark Horse Institute recently graduated their 17th audio engineering class (http://www.darkhorseinstitute.com/), marking over 100 graduates from the Dark Horse music production school. “We are thrilled with the growth of our school and the success of our graduates in the three short years Dark Horse Institute has been in operation.” states Director, Carolan Trbovich. That growth called for an expansion of their teaching facilities, when in May they added a second location in The Factory at Franklin. “The build-out of two additional studios and labs equipped with a variety of new and vintage gear in the Factory location enables us to have several simultaneous sessions going on, while keeping our individual class size small,” explains owner, Robin Crow.

As an alternative to traditional learning, Dark Horse Institute offers a unique 14-week recording arts program (http://www.darkhorseinstitute.com/recording-arts-school/?...) solely focused on audio taught by professional engineers in a real working studio. Sound engineers wanting to take their career to the next level as well as artists wanting to get the best sound out of themselves find the recording studio classes help them fully utilize their own equipment. With the decline in the number of record labels and recording studios, the industry has seen an increase in audio engineers working as independent contractors in home studios. Many home studio owners challenged with technology find DHI’s audio recording school teaches audio technology as well as much needed marketable skills to give them a competitive edge.
