Old Culverhaysians RFC Achieve RFU Club Accreditation

BATH, U.K. - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- “Gaining the RFU Club Accreditation has confirmed our commitment to the development of local community rugby at Old Culverhaysians RFC” says Mike Harding, Club Chairman.

The Tribute Somerset 2 North club are currently working alongside other Odd Down based sports clubs to push forward the complete re-development of the local playing fields at Bloomfield Road, which are scheduled to be upgraded by BaNES next year.

“For many years Odd Down has lacked decent quality sports facilities and the local community has suffered as a result.” Said Old Culverhaysians President, Martin Lynch.

“Gaining the recognition of RFU accreditation is a massive step forward for our club and underlines the hard work that has and continues to be undertaken by the club committee. We are one of very few Bath clubs who focus on developing players and supporters from the immediate local community. We’ve identified that Odd Down desperately needs better sports facilities and that this will bring massive health and social benefits to the area. By investing our time and effort now in growing rugby participation at grass roots level, Old Culverhaysians will have a firm foundation to build up a thriving rugby club again.”

The new Odd Down development, which includes an all-weather pitch and

purpose built changing facilities is scheduled to start in early 2014.

The RFU Club Accreditation is a mark of how Clubs are developing and thinking ahead, allowing them to record all the good work they currently do, but also to action plan for the coming 12 months to continue to build on their successes. It also brings with it Sport England’s Club Mark accreditation.

As club Chairman Mike Harding explains, “Gaining the RFU Club Accreditation has confirmed our commitment to the development of rugby at Old Culverhaysians RFC. We like to think that Old Culverhaysians RFC is a respected club where enjoyment is valued. Everyone is welcome to take part. The club is dependent on a small but totally dedicated team of volunteers. Many take on more than one role and devote considerable amount of time to provide a well organised and structured experience. The Club have worked very hard for the RFU Club Accreditation and set some really strong goals for the coming years.
