"I am both honored and excited to have the opportunity to play some down-home Funk with Victor Orlando. He is undoubtedly one of the best percussionists and showmen in the music business. Both of us having relatively the same influences, and graduating from the same school that is termed the "old school", which in my opinion is "the school", the poly-rhythmic match will be perfect, the grooves infectious, and I can say with all Funkiness, the performance will be like a locomotive coming at you. Can't wait to share the stage with the man and bring this funky, percussive extravaganza to the audience at the Avalon. My sincere thanks goes out to LA Music Awards executive producers, Al Bowman and Susanna Grifie, for making this happen", said Hawkins.
