GRAHAM, N.C. - Oct. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Here's the review of my new item I ordered from DealExtreme. I was always interested into portable small and compact but useful gadgets, so this time I decided to look for the portable handheld document scanner. From many shops I was looking through, the best options I found on DX shop. Here it was, compact nicely looking handheld scanner which has very good descriptions and technical specifications. So I just made my money transfer and bought this amazing thing.

I placed an order on 1st of Sept and when I checked it on 3rd, status was already changed into as being shipped. And here it was, on 28th of September this item was already at my home and I was able to use it. So It took about three weeks to arrive and that I must say was very fast. Sometimes items I order take much more time to arrive. All in all I am very happy with this delivery time.

The first impression when I received this package was that its weight is rather huge and the package itself is very big. But to consider that I was expecting to get a real document scanner, it has to be ok! And heavy weight most of the times is like an indicator for high quality materials used to build one or another particular item. So as you may see the item was packed into unusual white long DX envelope. Its size is compare to my scissors, so please take a look at it:

And here's the scanner box itself taken out of the envelope. You may see some damage is done to the scanner box, but that is expectable because it has to travel a very long way from china to my country. But the box itself is very nicely build. It is made of a thick cardboard so I think it protects the insides just fine. There are some nice pictures on the box with some instructions, logo and so on:

Here's another side of this box. It has these Certified for Europe signs. It is very good if you want to you it not only for personal need but also for your business.

We may see these specification logos. This scanner is able to scan ar 600 DPI resolution! It supports microSD cards (sadly there is no card included into the package), it is connected via USB, is able to scan in black and white or colour, paper size up to A4, and also comes with two AA batteries which to be honest died after couple of scans. But that is not a problem because in all cases you'll have to buy some good rechargable ones anyway.

OK, let's explore this item further. I took off the upper cover.

Box contains the scanner device, USB to mini USB cable for connection to a PC, two AA batteries, additional carrying bag and cleaning wipe and instruction manual.

Oh and, I forgot to mention added CD to th package. It has abby reader, the software for letter and text recognition. Very usefull thing if you need to work with handwritings etc.. I must say the package is very nicely build and all the addons are very useful.

The scanner device itself looks to be made of very high quality materials. It is very comfortable for you had, does not slip off and stays in very firmly. Device has a tiny LCD screen which shows all the options, settings, quality and so on. There are some buttons near to that screen which help to setup the device for your scans. You can adjust a dpi, colour mode, quality and many more.

Now let's check the scanning quality:

Now just take a look at the scanning quality of this device. I couldn't imagine I will get such. It isn't worse than a professional scanner. Below is the scanner picture of the book (set mode: low quality):

High quality. Not much of the difference I would say, but the file size is 3 times bigger:

You may see how good this device is. You pay almost 70 dollar, but you get a professional tool for that sum of money. If you are working with a large number of documents and you need to scan a lot, this is a must for you! I was surprised about this device and would recommend it for everyone. I am extremely happy about it and am planning to buy couple more for my friends.

To sum up it is a very good and useful item for the good price. You should defintely buy one if you need a portable scanner.
