By: Power Ten, Inc. ”We are extremely pleased to represent the Hungry Giant brand of products” says Russ Emons, President and CEO of Power Ten, Inc. “Our customer set is looking for the best of breed solution to their environmental challenges, but they also want the solutions that make sound financial sense. Hungry Giant joins our energy generating device, MAGS™ (Micro Auto Gasification System™) in our solution set that enables us to turn waste into a fuel source, and to divert waste from the landfill.” Food leftovers are the single-largest component of the waste stream, by weight, in the United States. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, currently 88 percent of all food waste (or over 36 million tons of food waste) reaches landfills each year in the United States. Food waste includes uneaten food and food preparation scraps from residences or households, commercial establishments, institutional sources, and industrial sources. An additional 23 percent of total food losses are produced by manufacturing, distribution, and retail operations. Hungry Giant’s new product http://www.powerteninc.com/ How Does It Work Food is comprised mainly of water, and the Hungry Giant machines dehydrate all food and organic waste, significantly reducing the volume of waste. Once the dehydration process is complete, what is left is a “dry, completely inert, soil-like” product, which can be used as a garden fertilizer. All the wet, smelly food waste has been processed to become a dry odorless waste stream,” said Ben Englefield, Hungry Giant General Manager. “There are many types of food waste processing systems, however the Hungry Giant units run at 85 degrees Centigrade in order to kill any bacteria – air-borne or other,” said Mr. Englefield. “Our unit is safer, faster, and we guarantee up to a 90 percent reduction in volume.” Power Ten, Inc. is pleased to be able to offer this technology to the United States customer and believes it nicely complements our current environmentally friendly waste disposal technology including MAGS™ and WETT™. Tony White, Director of Sales & Marketing, New Technologies, stated, “The addition of the Hungry Giant to our product line broadens Power Ten Inc.’s ability to assist our customer’s efforts of achieving their environmental goals and “green” initiatives. White also added, “Power Ten is committed to providing integrated solutions for our clients that will effectively manage operating cost and their specific waste streams, in order to move closer to net zero operations”.
