BONN, Germany - Oct. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 ICEF Asia Workshop took place in China last week (Oct 16 - 18). Held at the Grand Millennium hotel in central Beijing, ICEF's largest Asia-focussed networking event welcomed 406 participants.

In total, 108 education institutions and 16 exhibitors from 21 countries, and 142 agencies from across Asia, conducted 3673 pre-scheduled meetings during the workshop. Of these participants an impressive 22% were attending their first ever ICEF event. "ICEF continues to be the leader in bringing schools and agents together. We have attended several ICEF Workshops over the years and ICEF continues to strive for success within the ever changing climate" commented Penny Gerdeman of the University of Findlay, USA.

Participants left Beijing completely satisfied with the event, 100% rating the workshop good or excellent. Overall, feedback from Beijing was very impressive, especially with regard to the high quality of new contacts - 94% of attendees rating this as good or excellent. This was reinforced by Michael Lu from Chongging Rite International Business Consulting, China, who said "I have attended ICEF workshops many times, but ICEF Beijing still gives me new contacts each year - this is invaluable to our business. We even signed new contracts in some of our meetings".

An exceptional range of education institutions were present at the workshop allowing agents to learn about different courses and programmes that complement the Asian student market. The meetings between agents and institutions created beneficial relationships which will undoubtedly lead to future opportunities. “This was a really great way to meet and discuss partnerships with different institutions from all over the world" remarked Julian H. Lee from Apply International, South Korea.

In addition to the formal business meetings, there were a number of social occasions during the event, allowing participants to connect in a more relaxed setting. The main evening reception was warmly received as participants were treated to performances by traditional Chinese acrobats and other artists. Following the workshop many agents and educators enjoyed a tour of various Beijing attractions including the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven and a rickshaw tour through the “Hutongs” (traditional neighbourhoods).

ICEF's next event is The ICEF Berlin Workshop to be held November 03 – 05 at the InterContinental Berlin. This is the largest networking event of its kind in the world, and brings together the best educators, agents, service providers and work and travel professionals from all over the globe.
