-- Essentia Water
®, innovator of the first functional bottled water brand in the United States, continues to make its mark on the beverage industry with its selection as a Beverage World 2013 Liquid Refreshment Company of the Year honorable mention (http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/macfadden/bw1013/#/38)
. The honor, which was announced in the October 2013 issue of Beverage World
magazine cover story, recognizes businesses that demonstrate innovation and strength in the Ready To Drink categories. Essentia competed against many leading ready to drink beverage innovators including Starbucks, this year’s winner.
“Our loyal customers have long recognized Essentia Water’s excellent taste and unique selling propositions, but it’s particularly special to be recognized by and among such prominent industry leaders,” said Ken Uptain, Essentia’s president. “We’
ve had a strong year that kicked off with a record-setting best sales month in our company’s 15-year history, and shows no signs of slowing down thanks to Essentia’s year-round popularity and sell-through.”
Essentia, which is on track to book its 10th
consecutive year of double-digit growth, continues to experience success as a leading alkaline water brand, natural segment category leader and one of the top 10 fastest growing brands in grocery. Among the achievements that struck a chord with Beverage World
was the fact that in January 2013 Essentia recorded the biggest sales month in the company’s 15-year history, which is atypical of the category, which tends to see sales increase during warm, dry months.
According to Uptain, the company’s strong year-round sales are greatly attributed to customers who utliize Essentia for everyday drinking, brewing tea and in a range of recipes. In its continued commitment to offering products that meet a range of customer needs, earlier this year Essentia rolled out 20-ounce sport top and 1.0 liter single-serve bottles of its pH 9.5 super hydrating water™. More recently, Essentia announced a partnership with fellow hydration innovator Jetflow to educate consumers about the importance of responsible and environmentally friendly hydration with Bisphenol A (BPA)-free, recyclable PET-1 bottles.
