Hunters Wokingham help raise £1,307.31 to build Berkshire’s Children’s Hospice

Oct. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- At the Wokingham Festival ( http://www.wokinghamfestival.co.uk) this past Bank Holiday weekend, Hunters Wokingham and some kind volunteers from  Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service worked together to raise funds for the charity by selling raffle tickets. Hunters donated £500 towards the raffle prizes chosen by the charity, making this one of the first successful support initiatives in the new partnership.

After a successful weekend of selling tickets, come rain or shine and the collaborative selling skills of both the generous and kind Alexander Devine volunteers and the fantastic team at Hunters Wokingham, the total amount raised has rocketed to £1,307 just in ticket  sales alone. A number of other local businesses kindly donated prizes including Forever Beauty, Eton Travel, Precious Moments Photography, Delta Force Paintballing, Odds Farm Park, Danielle Clare Pampering, Cuppies and Cream, Tanya Forgan Yoga, HaaHoos, Monkey Mates, Jen’s Beauty Rooms, Stella and Dot and Venture Photography.

Newly-appointed managing director of Hunters in Wokingham, Daniel Millington, said “This weekend has truly been a triumph. The Hunters team and the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice volunteers have made the local Wokingham community aware of the need for this Hospice, and selling the raffle tickets has provided all the team with the opportunity to spread the word about this fundamental cause, as well as share some great prizes.”

When the  charity heard how much has been raised over the 2 days at the Wokingham Festival they said that “We are simply delighted with the wonderful success of this event and are so grateful to the fantastic, dedicated team at Hunters who have worked so hard, not to mention our own wonderful volunteers. They have not just raised an amazing sum of money for our charity but they have also raised awareness about the desperate need for our very own local children’s hospice. We are so grateful for this kind and generous support.”
