“The best part of my job is the satisfaction of knowing I provided the best possible solution for a specific patient’s condition,” says Dr. McCullough, founder of Suncoast Urogynecology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, “As a female athlete, I understand the importance of a balanced and active lifestyle for both mental and physical health. Many women lose this ability after childbirth or with age and it is my goal to restore their lifestyle as quickly as possible.” Dr. McCullough was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. A pelvic surgery expert, she completed both her Bachelor and Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a Minor in Biomechanics at the University of Florida. It was as an undergrad that Dr. McCullough’s passion for understanding the human body and how to restore proper function took root. This combined with her innate desire to interact and connect with those around her led the urogynecology expert to medicine. A certified urogynecological surgeon, she earned her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, narrowing her professional focus on women’s health. From there she attended a four year residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Florida where she became fascinated with the restoration of pelvic function. Dr. McCullough then completed an additional three year, ABOG approved fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of South Florida. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and continues to advance knowledge of the field as an affiliate Associate Professor at the University of South Florida, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Urogynecology is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology, as well as urology. It focuses on restoring pelvic floor function in women with pelvic health issues such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary tract problems. Dr. McCullough’s practice, Suncoast Urogynecology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, is equipped to provide on-site diagnostic testing for women with pelvic health issues, and she has access to state-of-the- When Dr. McCullough is not seeing patients in New Port Richey and the rest of Pasco County, she enjoys spending her free time staying active, volunteering, and spending time with her family in the Tampa Bay area. Dr. McCullough has completed two half marathons—one in Miami and the other in San Diego—as well as dedicated years of her life to serving the Tampa Bay area through various service organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and other Catholic charities.
