IxDA Phoenix hosts a panel of local design leaders for Phoenix Design Week event, Oct. 21

 
PHOENIX - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- IxDA Phoenix will hold a panel event at the University of Phoenix as part of Phoenix Design Week. The local Phoenix interaction design association improves the human condition by advancing the discipline of Interaction Design and helps businesses increase revenue, reduce costs, and differentiate from their competitors by designing user-focused experiences. The one-night event will feature five local design leaders as they debate the art and science of interaction design. The panel will take place Monday, October 21, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the University of Phoenix John Sperling Center for Educational Innovation, Room 401, West Fountainhead Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85282. Admission is free, but registration is required.

Check-in begins at 5:30pm and the event starts at 6:00pm. T. Lynn Stott, Vice President for Student Experience Design and Innovation at University of Phoenix, will kick off the event. The panel will be moderated by Wayne Neale, president of Kydak, a customer research and user experience design company. The five panelists are Marvin Forte, owner of creative firm Bravoforté and Western region chapter advisor of AIGA, Shad Hardy of General Dynamics C4 Systems, UX and usability expert Theo Mandel, digital brand and content strategist Pamela Tames, and V.P. of User Experience at Lumension, Tony Quiroz. Approximately 90 people are expected to be in attendance to listen to panelists discuss and debate the content, science, art, process and human perspectives of interaction design.

The event is being organized by IxDA Phoenix. IxDA Phoenix organizes UX events all around the valley to facilitate dialog around how to increase the quality of human interactions with software, hardware, and systems and build a community of UX professionals for support, guidance, and collaboration.

The event is sponsored by The University of Phoenix at its John Sperling Center for Educational Innovation. The event is part of Phoenix Design Week, October 18-25. Phoenix Design Week connects the design community with a series of interactive events, exhibitions, presentations and a conference. The weekend conference brings internationally-recognized keynote speakers alongside local design authorities as part of an enlightening week celebrating all aspects of design.
