3rd Annual "Keep the Home Fires Burning" Community Fundraiser

PUTNAM, Conn. - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Pomfret, CT . . . Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes invites you to help keep the home fires burning for local families who will need heating assistance this winter, estimated to be over 10,000. Celebrations is selling HomArt wooden matches in decorative boxes and Colonial Candles votives for $10 each now through January 12, 2014. Once again, Celebrations will donate 100% of the sales to the Access Agency's LIHEAP (Low Income Heating Assistance Program).

With the support of their generous customers, Celebrations raised almost $3,800 last year.  Shirley Riemann, Access Agency's Director of Community Services, gratefully acknowledged the difference that Celebrations and their customers made to the community through this fundraiser: "Not one family suffered from the cold weather because of you and your staff’s commitment to 'Keep ALL Home Fires Burning.' "

Each box of matches (in a variety of decorative styles) and each votive (in several fragrances) is festively gift wrapped and comes with a donation card. "Keep the Home Fires Burning" matches and candles make thoughtful holiday gifts and, more importantly, warm neighbors in need during the cold winter months.  Celebrations will also happily accept cash or check donations for this fundraiser. Celebrations thanks the community service clubs of both PomfretSchool and WoodstockAcademy for helping wrap the candles and matches for customers' gift giving convenience. Celebrations also announces fall and holiday hours and memorable seasonal events. A diverse variety of original artwork and unique gift items are available in all price ranges as well as festive, complimentary gift wrapping.  Now through Christmas, they will be open every day from 10AM to 5PM (except Thanksgiving Day). Starting November 7th, Thursday nights from 5-7PM will be “Happy Shopping Hours," including complimentary wine & nibbles—groups welcome! In addition to the monthly series of Themed Afternoon Tea Events, Christmas Cream Tea Events will be held several times throughout December.
