NEW YORK - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- This week “Sportfolio” on Bloomberg TV presents a diverse lineup looking at the changing global world of American sport from both the private and public business perspective.

Josh Harris, Managing Partner of Apollo Global Management, has become a significant presence in the ranks of sports ownership with his purchase of the Philadelphia 76ers in 2011 and the New Jersey Devils in 2013. Bloomberg TV's Cristina Alesci sits down with Harris, and Rick Horrow interviews the CEO of both franchises, former MSG Sports President Scott O'Neil on the opportunities and challenges of running teams on both ends of the New Jersey Turnpike.

With the NFL going back to London again in a few weeks, Jacksonville Jaguars President Mark Lamping explains why his franchise gains both direct and indirect benefits from its commitment to play a home game in London in each of the next four years, and how the Jaguars are providing the NFL with a useful barometer of the depth and breadth of international interest in American football.

Also, Barry Goldwater Jr., former U.S. Congressman who now sits on the board of the Goldwater Institute, discusses his opposition to public funding for sports facilities. The Goldwater Institute led legal challenges to the sale of the NHL Phoenix Coyotes based on its interpretation of Arizona statutes regarding public subsidies. Goldwater tells Rick Horrow why his group opposes all use of taxpayer money in financing sports, even when the funding enables participation in events with positive economic impact such as the Super Bowl.

Sportfolio, the only weekly broadcast show dedicated to the business of sport, airs Thursday night at 9:30 PM and 12:30 AM ET Friday on Bloomberg TV (DirecTV 353, check your local cable systems for the channel near you).
