Bluebird Care Peterborough Run 26.21 Miles and Raises Money For Stroke Association

PETERBOROUGH, U.K. - Oct. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Sammy and Sarah, in home carers for Bluebird Care Peterborough & Rutland, ran a collective 26.21 miles on Sunday in the Perkins Great Eastern Run.

Before the event Sammy said:

"As a care worker I look after so many customers and help them live there life independently after suffering from a stroke! If I can do something and give back to those who make my job so rewarding and inspirational"

They managed their goal raising £600 and both completing the half marathon (13.1 miles) without break through the pouring rain. Sammy finished in 2 hours 22 minutes, with Sarah coming in shortly after at 2 hours 41 minutes.

After the event Sammy said:

"We both ran the whole distance without stopping once despite colds chest infections and a badly sprained ankle… Very proud moment! Thanks for your support"
