Follow on Google News | North Carolina Writer Releases Erotic Poetry Book in Durham on November 6Hillsborough poet Bartholomew Barker’s debut book of poetry releases this fall with a launch celebration at Teasers of Durham on Wednesday, November 6th at 7PM.
By: Bartholomew Barker Describing dancers “like a pale cello between my legs” with “unmapped bodies” and “clockwork hips,” Barker presents poem after poem with sensory surprises from his regular Wednesday nights spent at the dance club. The book is punctuated with evocative sketches by one of the club’s dancers. Recently, Writer’s Digest’s Robert Lee Brewer interviewed Barker after one of his poems made the Top 25 nationally in the 2013 Poem-a-Day Challenge. Barker, based in Hillsborough, has written poetry that has appeared in publications such as Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, Three Line Poetry, and the anthology Point Mass. The launch celebration of Wednesday Night Regular takes place at 7PM on Wednesday, November 6th at Teasers (156 Ramseur Street in Durham) followed by an evening show of topless dancers. The reading is free to attend and is open to all over the age of 21. Beverages available for purchase.
