Local Songwriters Release Song for Flood Victims
Longmont, CO based band The Prairie Scholars released a song called "100 Year Flood" and all money made from the song is going to the Longmont Community.
Longmont based band "The Prairie Scholars" are in love with their community which has supported them and encouraged them since the band moved to the area in 2009. This year the front range of Colorado was hit hard by a devastating storm which caused massive flooding and damage to Longmont and the surrounding communities. It was truely terrifying and destructive.
Andy and Jessica Eppler (The Prairie Scholars) decided to take action by writing and recording a new song about the community they had just watched go through a natural disaster the likes of which had not been seen for 100 years. All proceeds from the sale of the song will be donated to the Longmont flood relief effort.
The song is called "100 Year Flood" and is officially available today on http://www.prairiescholars.com and will be released on iTunes and the like in the coming weeks.
The song focuses on the reaction of the community in the face of disaster. People were helping eachother. People took others into their homes and gave them a hot meal. People dug eachother's belongings out of flooded basements. They showed up to help strangers clean out their houses in the days following the flood. The people of Longmont, CO showed that a loving and supportive community can stand togather against anything... even a 100 year flood.
The song can be purchased on the official website of The Prairie Scholars which is www.prairiescholars.com
OR it can also be found on CDBaby at http://www.cdbaby.com/
The song will be released on iTunes and other servises in the coming weeks.
