LANSING, Mich. - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- The Fall Exam window for successful applicants looking to take their industrial hygiene careers to the next level began on October 1st.   Approved candidates have until November 30th to take the CIH exam.

Each year, ABIH offers two exam windows: April-May and October-November.  Successful applicants who have been approved to take the exam and have paid their exam fee can schedule the CIH exam anytime within those windows.

The CIH exam consists of 200 items covering the individual’s knowledge across the broad general practice of industrial hygiene. The allotted time for the exam is 5.5 hours, with an optional break between the two sections of the exam.  The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) has contracted with Prometric Testing to provide exam locations across the United States and in many countries across the globe.

“We wish all of the dedicated industrial hygiene professionals who are taking the exam this Fall the best of luck in earning the coveted CIH certification,” reported Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH.  “For those interested in becoming a CIH, another important date is just a short time away.  Candidates for the Spring Exam need to have successfully submitted a complete application by February 1st to be eligible for the next chance to take the exam.”

For those interested in pursuing CIH certification, the entire process and all of the requirements have been clearly defined in a downloadable document on the ABIH website.  The Candidate Handbook discusses everything from academic and experience requirements to the application process, fees and examination information.
