Classified or Not? New Thriller a Veiled Tell-All

Former State Department Official Pens Account from Actual Events
By: The Volcano Dancer

LAKE ZURICH, Ill. - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- CHICAGO—A former State Department and Capitol Hill official today said the narrative behind his newly-released book, The Volcano Dancer, depicts actual events, including some the federal

government either denies or has kept secret. Brad Keena (mailto:author@bradkeena.com), a veteran of two presidential administrations, called the account “truth disguised as fiction,” tying real events to federal agencies that have outgrown realistic accountability.

“The NSA wiretapping scandal was both inevitable and is only the beginning,” Keena (http://www.bradkeena.com/official-bio/), who served in the intelligence community, said. “Congress cedes so much power to the executive branch that some agencies now escape realistic oversight in part by hiding their indiscretions under ‘Top Secret’ classifications.”

In The Volcano Dancer (http://www.bradkeena.com/online-media-kit/), Keena weaves together an “organized tapestry” of actual events recorded from twenty-plus years serving in Washington. A depiction of the United States five years from now, the story chronicles the plight of a husband and father who must penetrate government secrecy to
solve the mystery behind the deaths of his wife and daughter. To avoid scandal, officials behind the mystery declare the entire incident “Top Secret” and off-limits to everyone, including the media.

“Certain federal agencies have actually done this,” Keena explained. “Turn a different corner and you or I could easily be him.”

Royalties Pledged to Fight Slavery

Keena, who served in the State Department’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (http://www.state.gov/j/tip/rls/tiprpt/2006/65996.htm), has pledged the royalties from his book to help fight trafficking in persons through a non-profit organization called FREE International (http://www.bradkeena.com/where-my-royalties-are-going/).

The Volcano Dancer (312 pp. Tate Publishing & Enterprises. $22.99) is available on paperback everywhere books are sold (eBook version available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble). Online media kit available at http://www.bradkeena.com/online-media-kit/.
